Let me guess. You've done Disney World, maybe more times than you'd admit out loud. Maybe you've sailed with Disney Cruise Line. And lately you've caught yourself scrolling through photos of Italy, Iceland or Japan and thinking, could we actually do that with the kids?
Then the next thought hits. Who's going to plan all of it? Which train do we take? Which tour company can we trust? What if the kids melt down halfway through the Colosseum? And honestly… is it worth what it costs?
I know that feeling, because I live it too. I'm a mom of three. I've flown to Disney solo with all three of my kids. I know exactly what it's like to be the one carrying the bags, the snacks, the tickets, the backup plan and everybody's mood. On most family vacations, Mom isn't really on vacation. Mom is the tour director.
Adventures by Disney is the trip where you finally get to hand that job to someone else.
So, what is Adventures by Disney?
Adventures by Disney (ABD) is Disney's guided vacation brand for families who want to see the world beyond the parks. There are trips on every continent, by land, by river cruise and by expedition cruise. Disney ran its very first trip in 2005, to Jackson Hole and Yellowstone, and has spent nearly 20 years perfecting the formula since.
Groups are small, capped at about 40 guests, and every trip is led by two Disney-trained Adventure Guides.
And no, you won't find Mickey at the pyramids. What you get is the Disney service, storytelling and attention to detail you already love, in real places around the world.
The real luxury isn't the hotel. It's not having to think.
When people hear the price of an Adventures by Disney trip, they picture fancy hotels. The hotels are lovely. But that's not really what you're paying for.
You're paying to show up and have it handled.
You're not figuring out how to get to the pyramids. Your transportation is arranged, timed and waiting.
You're not navigating the rainforest in Costa Rica with a map in one hand and a tired ten-year-old in the other. Someone who knows the way is leading.
You never touch your luggage during transfers. You set your bags outside your door at one hotel, and they're waiting in your room at the next. No dragging suitcases over cobblestones. Ever.
You skip the ticket lines. Admissions are taken care of before you arrive.
You have two guides solving the hundred little problems you'd normally solve yourself. They handle the check-ins, the timing and the logistics, and they'll even help with your free time: where to eat dinner, where to grab the best gelato, where to find a quiet corner of the city.
You walk through doors that aren't open to the public. Every itinerary includes special access, from private tours to behind-the-scenes moments to local experts you simply can't book on your own.
That's the part that's hard to explain until you picture it. You get to look up. You get to actually see the place, instead of seeing your phone, your map and your watch.
Your kids are busy and happy, and you get a moment, too
This is the part parents love most.
On Adventures by Disney, kids are called Junior Adventurers, and every trip includes activities planned just for them. While the adults enjoy an expert-led museum tour, the kids might be solving a detective game through the galleries with a guide. They're not bored. They're not being dragged along. They're having their own adventure.
Many trips also include a kids-only dinner or movie night. That means you and your partner get a real, grown-up evening. A glass of wine. A conversation that isn't interrupted. A reminder of why you like traveling together in the first place.
The kids come home with their own memories (plus their own Junior Adventurer passport, activity book and keepsake gear), and you come home feeling like you actually had a vacation.
You don't have to do it all (and Grandma doesn't have to hike)
Here's something a lot of families don't realize: you don't have to do every single excursion.
If you're traveling as a multigenerational family and Grandma isn't up for the hike, that's completely fine. She can sit it out, enjoy a slower morning, a café or the hotel pool, and meet everyone later. If your teen needs a break, or you just want an afternoon to yourself, you can take it.
The guides are there to accommodate and assist as much as possible, so everyone gets the trip that works for them. Grandparents, teens and little ones all get experiences pitched to them, sometimes together and sometimes apart.
Every itinerary has its own activity level, and some are more active than others. That's one of the first things I look at with you, so the trip you choose fits everyone in your family.
"But is it worth it?" Let's be honest.
Adventures by Disney is an investment. I'm never going to pretend it isn't.
But think about what you'd be piecing together on your own: hours of research, separate tour bookings, private transfers, local guides, admission tickets, and the stress of hoping it all lines up in a country where you may not speak the language. Then think about what one wrong train or one missed tour costs you on a trip like this.
And think about the time itself. You only get so many summers when your kids still want to travel with you. ABD is built to protect those days, so you spend them together instead of spending them managing.
The hotels and the access are wonderful. But the real luxury is the memories, and the fact that you were actually present for them.
Why booking with me takes even more off your plate
Adventures by Disney handles the trip. I handle everything before it.
Even the most hands-off vacation starts with a lot of decisions: Which destination? Which departure date? Is my child the right age for this one? Land trip, river cruise or expedition? What about flights, and should we add nights before or after? That's where decision fatigue sets in, and that's exactly what I take off your plate.
I'm an Adventures by Disney specialist, and I work directly with ABD. That means:
I help you choose the right itinerary and departure for your family's ages, interests and pace.
I stay on top of the offers and promotions as they're released, so you don't have to keep checking.
I help you budget for the full picture, including what's not included (more on that below), so there are no surprises.
You have a real person in your corner. If a flight changes or something comes up, you call me. Your vacation, and your memories, are protected.
And my planning services come at no additional cost to you.
What's new for 2027
Adventures by Disney has announced three 2027 land itineraries: a brand-new 10-day Thailand trip, a new 8-day Croatia & Slovenia trip, and a reimagined Italy: Sicily & Amalfi Coast adventure. Each one includes Adventure Guides, special access to local sites and Junior Adventurer activities. River cruises and shorter Escapes are on sale, too.
Is Adventures by Disney right for your family?
It's a great fit if you:
Want international travel without planning every detail yourself
Have school-age kids or teens (most trips have a minimum age around 5 or 6, plus a suggested age worth checking)
Value access, ease and time together over the lowest possible price
Enjoy meeting other families while still having free time of your own
It may not be the right fit if you want a completely unscheduled trip, or if you're traveling with babies and toddlers.
What's not included
Gratuities for your Adventure Guides aren't included, and airfare is usually separate. I'll help you plan for both from the very beginning.
